Michael John Truelove

Michael John Truelove, 59, died Dec. 14, 2006, at home in Wasilla of a terminal illness. A memorial service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Gospel Outreach Christian Center, 4800 E. Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. Wasilla. The Rev. Mark Campbell will officiate.

He was born July 2, 1947, in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. He attended Herbert Thompson's School. In 1987, he moved to Wasilla. He was employed by the Transportation Security Administration as a transportation security officer. He was affiliated with Gospel Outreach Christian Center, and was an elder at the church. He was an active member of Mat-Su Master Gardener Club. Some hobbies he enjoyed were woodworking, fishing, playing skittles, darts, drawing and fellowship with family and friends.

His family stated, &#8220He was equally proud of his Welsh heritage and American citizenship. He loved to show his Welsh family his adopted home, Alaska, when they came to visit, and loved taking his family to Wales and showing his old home and exploring new places.”

He is survived by his wife, Hally Truelove of Wasilla; daughters, Hazel D. K. Truelove of Wasilla, Alice D. K. Truelove of Wasilla, and Nadia M. Koppenberg of Palmer; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and David John, their children, James and Emily, and his brother-in-law's mother, Betty John, all of Cardiff; mother-in-law, Hazel R. Koppenberg of Palmer; uncle and his wife, John and Kathy Milward of Palmer, and their children, Helen, Claire and Megan; aunt, Drusilla Kendrick of Palmer; stepfather, Gerald Wiltshire; sister-in-law and her husband, Sally Koppenberg and Jay Ericson, and their child, Richard Mueller, all of Palmer; brother-in-law and his wife, Aaron and Angela Koppenberg of Kerrville, Texas, and their children, Aaron Koppenberg Jr. and family of Alaska, Rachel Bailey and family, Theo Koppenberg and family, Elizabeth Koppenberg and family, and Audrey, Oliver and Arthur Koppenberg; sister-in-law, Roberta Koppenberg of Kenai; uncle and wife, Ken and Doris Milward and their children, Terry and Maggie, of England; uncle, Brian Milward and family of England; uncle, Mervyn Truelove and family of Wales; and many extended family members and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Doreen Truelove.

Memorial donations may be made to Gospel Outreach Christian Center Missions 4800 E. Palmer-Wasilla Hwy., Wasilla, AK, or Truelove Family Benefit Fund at Mat-Valley Credit Union 1020 S. Bailey St., Palmer, AK 99645. The family would appreciate flowers.

Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wasilla.
