Ardith Marie (Burr) Johnson

Longtime Kenai resident Ardith Marie (Burr) Johnson, 67, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at her home in Kenai.

Visitation is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at Peninsula Memorial Chapel, 5839 Kenai Spur Hwy. in Kenai. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at the LDS Church in Kenai, 605 Forest Lane.

A viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at the Kenai City Cemetery and lunch will immediately follow the graveside services at the church to which all friends and family are welcome. Bishop Brant Ellis will officiate.

Pallbearers will include Richard Johnson, Michael Johnson, Trevor Johnson, Russell Johnson, Ronald Johnson, Bruce Cleverley, Monte Cleverley and Kaleb Johnson.

She was born Aug. 28, 1939, to Arthur and Ila Burr in Heber, Utah. She graduated from high school and continued her education by receiving a degree. In 1953, she became a resident of Alaska, living in various places in Alaska, including Anchorage, Soldotna, Kenai and Valdez.

She was a housewife and belonged to the LDS Church and had served as the Relief Society president five times. She was active in politics and participated in Jay Hammond's campaign. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed crafts, genealogy, people and service.

&#8220Our mother is an exceptional lady,” her family wrote. &#8220She is loved for her positive view on life, her sense of humor and love of people. We were blessed with the best of childhoods. Mom played with us, worked with us and always laughed with us. She has given us warmth, love and watermelon picnics. We have grown to adults with her always on our side. She is our cheerleader, our friend and confidant. She taught us to express gratitude, work hard, play hard and love others, with love, thank you Mom.”

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Ila Burr Vickers and John Vickers; father, Arthur Burr; brother, Delbert Burr; and grandsons, Jon and Jesse Cleverley.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lawrence Johnson of Kenai; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Gina Johnson of Lakeland, Fla, Michael and Lauri Johnson of Nikiski, Russell and Paula Johnson of Pleasant Grove, Utah, and Ronald and Patty Johnson of Wasilla; daughter and son in-law, Carolyn and Bruce Cleverley of Boise, Idaho; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Forget-Me-Not Care Center, 905 Cook Ave., Kenai, AK 99611.

Tyra Nauriat Miller

Tyra Nauriat Miller, 29, of Arcadia, Wis., died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wis.

She was born Nov. 8, 1977, in Barrow, to Theron and Jackie (Needham) Miller.

She is survived by her son, Isaiah Miller of Arcadia; parents, Theron and Jackie Miller of Arcadia; sister, Shaina Miller of Arcadia; brother, Theron Miller Jr.; loving friend, Neil Walters of Galesville, Wis.; maternal grandfather, Marvin Needham; and paternal grandmother, Helen Kleven.

Preceding her in death were her maternal grandmother, Maire Needham; and paternal grandfather, Theron Miller Sr.

Funeral services were held Dec. 9, 2006, at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, 1378 Wilson Ave., Arcadia, Wis. The Rev. Carl Stone officiated. Burial was at Arcadia Public Cemetery.
