Delaine Albert “Del” Rieck

Delaine Albert “Del” Rieck, 79, of Cheyenne, Wyo., and formerly of Greeley, Colo., died Feb. 18, 2012, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 18, 1933, in Primrose, Neb., to Albert and Irene (Papst) Rieck. He received his schooling in Primrose, graduating from high school there.

Del was married to Diane Hoylman on March 28, 1962, in North Platte, Neb. They were later divorced.

Del joined the U.S. Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was later employed as an electrical engineer and lived and worked in various locations including Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, Indiana, Missouri and Greeley, Colo. He lived in Alaska from 1983 to 2004. He returned to Greeley for a short time before moving to Cheyenne, Wyo., to be near his children in 2005.

Surviving are daughters, Darcy Rosales of Rapid City, S.D., Dana Rieck of Cheyenne, Wyo., and DeAnna Rieck of Cheyenne, Wyo.; son, Dustin Rieck of Cheyenne, Wyo.; brothers, Eugene Rieck of Elkhorn, Neb., and Dennis Rieck of Albion, Neb.; sister, Dorothy Young of Albion, Neb.; grandchildren, Matthew, Lindsey, John, Katey and Jamey Rosales, Courtney (Rosales) Hawkins, Stile Neitzke and Dylan Rieck; and five great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. Services and interment is planned at a later date at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Neb.
