Della Loraine Layton Hauff, 83, died Dec. 26 in Palmer of natural causes.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 9 at Homestead Community Center in Houston with Rev. Shook officiating.
Della was born Sept. 26, 1926 in Beulah, N. D. Being a minister’s wife, she first moved to Alaska in 1964 and lived throughout the state. She was very active with the Church of God and served the church and the community on many levels.
She enjoyed cooking, decorating cakes, talking about the Lord and singing church songs.
Her family wrote, “Della was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many people. She was happy and had a joyous spirit. Philippians 1:21: ‘For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.’ She will be missed by all.”
She is survived by her husband William Hauff; daughters Lauretta Moreno, Wilhelmina Guyll, Della Harper and Alma Richard; son Andrew Hauff; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, 13 brothers and sisters, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
