Dennis Aaron Daniel, 64, died Aug. 8, 2011, at home in Palmer of complications from cancer.
Dennis was born Nov. 7, 1946, in Santa Barbara, Calif., and graduated from Truckee High School in 1964. He joined the U.S. Army Sept. 6, 1967, and was discharged June 8, 1971, from Fort Ord, Calif. He moved to Alaska in January 1998 and resided in Palmer. For 25 years before moving to Alaska, Dennis served on Ski Patrol at Lake Tahoe, Calif. He last drove patients for the Palmer Senior Center.
Dennis loved fishing, boating and traveling around Alaska seeing the sights. He loved everything Alaska. Dennis enjoyed his years in Alaska. He was happy to have relocated here as his family had a long and rich history here. His grandmother, Jean Lilly, graduated from Nome high school in 1915 and his great uncle Don Crowley owned Crowley General Store in Nome during the Gold Rush.
In the past year, his health declined and he spent much time reflecting on his children, who he had lost touch with, but whom he loved very much.
Dennis is survived by his children, Laurie and Jamie of California, Michael and David of Cabazon, Calif., and Andrea Jean Clinton of North Carolina; grandchild, Mariah of Indio, Calif.; sister, Everly Henderson of Palmer; niece, Gina Bringmann of Willow; grandnieces, Sage Bringmann of Anchorage and Lillian Boylan of Willow; and grandnephew, Nikolas Bringmann of Palmer.
Arrangements were with Legacy Kehl’s Palmer Chapel.
