Diana Lee Beck Pinard, 67, passed away peacefully in her home in Wasilla, surrounded by loving family on July 23, 2013.
She was born June 3, 1946, in Porterville, Calif. She met the love of her life, Paul Edward Pinard, while at the University of Idaho. They later married in 1968 and moved to Alaska. She finished her elementary education degree at the University of Alaska Anchorage. For many years, her full-time job was raising her four children, whom she adored, and being a doting wife to her husband.
In 1993, she became a Real Estate agent in the Mat-Su Valley. She worked hard and was very successful. She loved her career and enjoyed working with her clients and co-workers, many of whom have remained friends over the years.
She enjoyed living an active life at Paul’s side, exploring Alaska by Bush plane, rafting down the Yukon River, commercial fishing in Bristol Bay and riding motorcycles. Trips down the Alaska Highway on their motorcycle and to motorcycle rallies were recent highlights.
She and Paul split their time between homes in Wasilla, Congress, Ariz., and their farm in Emmett, Idaho. The Arizona home was the delight of her life; she loved spending the winter months there exploring the state.
One of her favorite activities was shopping, especially with loved ones. She also enjoyed watching her children engage in various activities such as sports. Disneyland was her favorite place to visit and she enjoyed many vacations there with her family.
Diana was the most unselfish woman any of us knew. She always thought of others before herself and had the kindest and most giving heart. She was loyal to her family and friends and gave us all a joy that cannot be replaced. She will be dearly missed!
She leaves behind her soul mate of 45 years, Paul Pinard; her sister and best friend, Sherry Jensen and spouse Dave Jensen of Wasilla; daughter, Michelle Pinard of Boise, Idaho; daughter, Suzanne Pinard Fullmer and her husband Jim Fullmer and grandkids Brandon, Matthew and Kenndey Fullmer of Seattle, Wash.; son, P.J. Pinard and his wife Caudia Fonseca Farias Pinard of Wasilla; son, Christopher Pinard and his partner Kaua Colon of Wasilla; and numerous extended family members.
A memorial service is at 1 p.m., July 29 at Legacy Funeral Homes Wasilla Chapel, 1201 W. Parks Hwy., Wasilla. During the service there will be time to share memories from the congregation.
Please make any donations to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wasilla.
