Diana passed away after a 2 year struggle with a progressive lung disease. She was surrounded by her family at her passing.

Diana was born in Jackson, Michigan to Dean and Mazie Bunker. She was raised the middle child of 5 children. The family lived in Michigan until the summer of 1960, when they embarked on an ambitious journey to Alaska. The family homesteaded in the Willow area, which is where she met the love of her life Joe Walker. They married in August in 1962 in Palmer, AK. The newly married couple lived in Anchorage for a short period of time, but soon returned to the Mat Su valley. By this time she was raising 2 small boys, and soon after began a 40 plus year career as a school bus driver. It was around this time that her and Joe purchased set net sites on the west side of Cook Inlet, near where her parents also had set net sites. Little did she know then that she would spend nearly every summer for the next 50 plus years there. Many good family memories were created there. Her and Joe retired from fishing in 2016.

The family moved to Trapper Creek in the mid 1970s. What started out as a 2 year commitment turned into more than 40 years.

Diana was preceded in death by her father Dean.

She leaves behind her husband Joe, Sons Larry (Blanca) and Joe.

She also is survived by her grandchildren (whom she was very proud of) Josh, Breanna, Crystal, Cheyanne, Joey, and Brandon. She also had 4 great grandchildren.

She also leaves behind her mother Mazie, and all four of her siblings.

The family is planning a memorial for the spring/summer of 2019.
