On August 13 2024 Diane, nicknamed Blondie, passed away unexpectedly and quickly. Diane was born 02-18-1956 in Detroit Lakes Minn to Theron and Vivian Roen. Diane attended and graduated from Lake Park Public school. On Sept. 3 1977 she married Jim Ericksen from Audubon at the Lake Park Lutheran Church in Minnesota. She and Jim went on to produce 3 children.

Then in 1986 on a prayer and a wish they moved to Alaska for a grand adventure. It was there that a 4th child was added. Some Alaskans may remember her from the Farm Service Agency. She was the first president of the Mat Su chapter of the Friends of the NRA. She also was a longtime volunteer for the Wasilla High School Football Boosters. She and Jim lived at the Matanuska Experiment Farm for many years. She was a big help to Jim when the farm would put on special events. After 32 years with the University, she convinced Jim that it was time to retire and they moved to a lovely home in Big Lake AK. There she found her favorite place on earth.

Her days were filled with decorating the house and planting flowers and shrubs and making it a very comfortable home. She very much loved having the Grandchildren over for a visit. Very often Jim would look at her and tell her what a lucky guy he was. She is survived by her husband Jim, daughter Melinda and sons Daniel, Chad and Travis. And Grandchildren Jarek, Lily, Erik, Kylie, Graysen, Carson and Evelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Matanuska Experiment Farm on 9-21-24. It will be a potluck. Any questions on that please call Theresa or Melissa at 907-745-3360. There will also be a Celebration in Minnesota next summer. Condolences may be mailed to PO Box 520914 Big Lake Alaska 99652
