Diane Marie Morigeau, 74, passed away from leukemia July 31, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Diane was born and raised in Yakima, Washington, as the oldest of four siblings to Eddie and Stella Sauve. She met her husband Ben Morigeau 50 years ago in Yakima. In the early years of their marriage, Diane and Ben with daughter Julie lived overseas in Okinawa, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and eventually settled in Palmer. Upon retirement, they lived on Flathead Lake in Montana, but spent most of the winters as snowbirds in Arizona. When Ben passed, Diane moved back to Yakima to be close to family. Wherever she was she lived life to the fullest, embraced everyone as family, and made life-long friends all over the world; leaving them all with warm memories of happy hour, laughter and great home-cooked meals.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Janice Gonzales; brother, Ronald Sauve; grandson, Jason Morigeau; and cherished cousins-in-crime, Don and Margie Thomas.
Diane is survived by her daughter, Julie Callison (Jeff) of Sutton; son, Bobby Morigeau (Donna) of Palmer; brother, Ed Sauve (Denise) of Clayton, California; brother-in-law, Paul Gonzales of Renton, Washington; sister-in-law, Debbie Sauve of Yakima; grandchildren, Ben Morigeau (Marie), Kristyn Luttrell, Josh Morigeau (Jeanne), Justin Morigeau (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Hanna Morigeau, Tristen Morigeau, Taylor Mathison, Charlize and Jordan Luttrell; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; and of course, Fat Cat.
Our family extends our deepest thanks for the kind and attentive care provided by Dr. Albert Brady and his expert team, and for the help and comfort from the Infusion Staff at Memorial Hospital. A very special thank you to Heartlink Hospice for their special care of Diane and Diane’s family for all of their support and care.
There will not be a funeral at her request but a celebration of life will be held at a later date for the family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the American Cancer Society.
Brookside Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
