Diane Ruth Muma Johnson

Lifelong Alaska resident Diane Ruth Muma Johnson, 54, died April 30, 2012.

The funeral is at 5 p.m., May 19 at the Powder House in Cordova. Diane’s ashes will later be taken to Hawaii to be scattered by her loved ones.

Diane was born Aug. 16, 1957, in Cordova to David Muma and Eleanor Muma. She was born and raised in the rugged terrain. She lived in Cordova until her family purchased a home in the 1990s and lived in Wasilla since.

She loved spending time with her grandkids. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and laying out in the sunshine.

“Our mom, Diane, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend,” he family wrote. “She had the prettiest blue eyes and a smile that would light up the room. She will be greatly missed and forever important. We love you!”

Preceding her in death was her mother, Eleanor Muma; father, David Muma; and life-long friend, Robert Graham.

Surviving are her husband, Rick Johnson of Wasilla; sons, James Graham of Wasilla and David Johnson of Wasilla; daughters, Stacey Reilly of Cordova, Mandy Coleman of Wasilla, Crystal Spargo of Wasilla and Aurora Dockins of Wasilla; brothers, Allan Muma of Cordova, Dale Muma of Cordova and Gordan Muma of Cordova; sisters, Sara Mallory of Cordova, Rita Hernandez of Cordova, Stella Bouknight of Cordova and Mary Higgins of Cordova; life-long friend, Johnny Cambell of Cordova; Kathy Bollin of Cordova; 15 grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
