After a long and adventurous life, Dit (Warren) Wade Werner passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.
Born in Temperance, MI to Viola Frances Walters and Walter Werner, he spent his youth farming. At the age of 14, he began a lifetime of unique business pursuits. In 1968 he made his way to Alaska where he would meet the love of his life, Janice (Downes) Werner, and together they would raise nine children. Throughout his lifetime, he was a successful entrepreneur. He used this flexible lifestyle to spend time teaching and working with his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His faith in Jesus Christ led him to a life of service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife Janice (Downes) Werner; his children Lucas Werner (Paula), Jeffrey Werner, James Werner (Karen), Gary Werner, Charles Werner (Kim), Duane Werner (Aina), Rhona Taylor (Brian), Justin Werner, Garrett Seibert-Werner (Jared); his siblings Jess Werner (Carol), Violet Warner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Viola Walters & Walter Werner; his siblings Walt (Sonny) Werner, Dwight Werner, Earl Werner.
Services will be held on Monday, June 5th at 1:00 pm, with a viewing at Noon. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 560 W Arctic Palmer, AK 99645.
