Don Caulkins, 60, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2016, at his cabin in Nikiski following a lengthy illness.
A celebration of his life will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Moose Lodge in Palmer, Alaska.
Don was born and grew up in Palmer. His father’s and mother’s families were colonists in the Mat-Su Valley. He spent summers commercial fishing in Cook Inlet. When a bonfire was burning on the beach and his family and friends were there, Don was happiest.
Don’s family is thankful for his friends and caregivers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Denise, his parents, Don Sr. and Joyce, and a brother, Kenny.
Don is survived by his children, Windy, Donny, Coral, Jazmyn; stepchildren, Zabrina, Kenai, Nichole and Billy; 11 grandchildren; sister, Vicky and a large extended family.
Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
