WAKE FOR DON

Don passed away December 2, 2020, after a hard fought battle with colon cancer. He has been interred at the Pioneer Cemetery; it was his wish to be among his good friends that went before him.

Don leaves behind his two children, Keith Cook and family living in Post Falls, Idaho; and his daughter, Nikole Preece, son-in-law, Travis Preece, and their four children, Noah, Parker, Jackson and Savannah Preece of Hayden, Idaho. He also leaves his wife, Kathy Cook, living in Palmer, Alaska.

Don had many hobbies, but his true love was classic cars and working on them. He had a ‘67 Ford Mustang GTA, ‘55 Chevy Belair 2 dr, and his dream truck, a ‘66 Chevy truck he’d been trying to buy since high school and finally had his dream come true last year.

We miss Don every day and I can’t say it’s much easier 6 months later. He had so many plans and ideas, always moving forward. He always said don’t live in the past but live for today. He never gave up his fight with cancer and battled hard. He was not ready to go, but God needed him sooner than any of us were ready to let him go.

Please come to join our family to celebrate Don Cook’s life and bring any memorabilia and stories to share. We are providing hamburgers and hotdogs, baked beans and drinks. If anyone would like to bring a dish it would be welcome but not necessary. Hope to see you there Friday, June 18th, at 4:00. It’s being held at Dale Anderson’s in Sutton Alaska. The address is 22830 E Anderson Drive, Sutton, Alaska. Dale is also putting up DC signs at mile 62 of the Glenn Highway to get you there.
