Donald Lawrence Vaughn Sr., 62, died May 27, 2011, at his home in Palmer.
Don was born April 13, 1949, in Astoria, Ore. He came to Alaska with his wife and three children to live the Alaskan dream. A resident of Palmer for 29 years, Don had many hobbies. He enjoyed woodworking and hot rods. “He was a teacher to all a seaman at heart,” his family wrote.
He is survived by his mother, Marybelle; sisters, Roxy, Olivia and Allison; brother, Mark Vaughn; son, Donald Vaughn Jr.; daughter, Amy Vincent; granddaughter, Maizy; and son-in-law, Mark.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Donna; father Don; his son, Justin; and his granddaughter, Coral.
A celebration of life is at the Vaughn residence at 5 p.m., June 18, followed by a potluck.
