Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Donald Michael Marino, 76, died Jan. 1 of lung cancer at his home in Wasilla.
Donald was born on May 22, 1932 in Chicago to Rocco and Anne Marino.
He came to Alaska in 1969 and lived in Anchorage until 1987 and then moved to Settlers Bay where he lived until his death.
He was in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1955.
Donald worked as a recreational land developer until he retired.
His family said, “Don passed away at home with his wife, Laurie, and his friend, Shell Ewing, at his beside.”
He is preceded in death by his son, Mark Marino, and daughter, Cindy Marino.
Donald is survived by his wife, Laurie Schafer-Marino.
Arrangements are with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
