Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Donna Diane Towne, 61, of Willow passed away at home Jan. 7, 2008, of natural causes.
Towne is survived by her son, Brian (Lorena) Towne, and grandson, Brian Towne Jr.
Towne was a woman loved by all who knew her. She was a good friend and would put herself out to help anyone in need. She had a soft spot for animals. For many years, until her failing health prevented it, she raised exotic birds and many other animals. She also would find homes for homeless and unwanted animals.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Willow United Methodist Church, Mile 67.5 Parks Highway. Pastor Steve Eldred will officiate. A potluck gathering will be held in celebration of her life following the service.
