DOROTHY ELEANOR COLTHARP

Wasilla resident Dorothy Eleanor (Textor) Coltharp, 82, died of natural causes July 16 at home.

Public was July 19 at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel, 1015 S. Check Street in Wasilla. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. July 20, at Wasilla Aurora Cemetery, located on the corner of Wasilla-Fishhook and Aspen. Pastor Brad Whitworth will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Robert G. Merritt, R. J. Textor, Jeff Bowker, Jim Bowker, Randy Bowker and Danny Coltharp.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. July 20, at First Baptist Church of Wasilla, 900 Leatherleaf Loop in Wasilla.

Pastors Fred Stroud and Rodney Kovtynovich will officiate.

Coltharp was born May 11, 1925, in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Austin High School in El Paso.

She worked for the City of Los Angeles from July 1970 until her retirement in July 1980.

She came to Alaska in August 1988, residing in Wasilla.

he was a member of First Baptist Church of Wasilla from August 1988 until her death. Her most cherished position was teaching a senior ladies Sunday School class.

Coltharp's hobbies and special interests were family, church, writing and crafts. She loved to entertain family and friends in her home.

She was the married to Dwight R. Coltharp of Wasilla for almost 65 years.

Other survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Charles S. Worthy of Wasilla; son and daughter-in-law Dwight Jr. and Judy Coltharp of California; a brother, R. J. Textor of New Mexico; a brother-in-law, R. G. Merritt, of Texas; grandchildren, their spouses, and great-grandchildren Jeff, Vicki, Maria, Megan and Braden Bowker; Jim and Peggy Bowker, Randy, Meghan, Elisabeth and Jill Bowker, all of Wasilla; Mike, Stacey and Faith Hunter of Palmer; Tammy and Jeff Reinking of Florida; Danny, Heather and Dylan Coltharp of Nevada; Kelly and Richard Sell of California; and great-grandson and his wife, Kertis and Jaime Abersold of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy James and Euna Pearl Textor; and sisters Gladys Anthony and Betty Merritt.
