Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Dorothy passed away peacefully at her residence after a battle with cancer. She was born in Brooklyn NY and is the youngest of two children. She followed the love of her life, John, to Alaska in 1953 and made it home for the last 64 years. She and her husband were blessed to have 57 wonderful years of marriage and spent the last 23 years enjoying retirement together. Dorothy enjoyed time with her husband until his passing, being home, watching movies and spending time with her dogs. Her hobbies were cross-stitching, crossword puzzles and doing puzzles with family members.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her father Stanley, mother Petronella, sister Petronella and husband John. She is survived by her three sons and wives; John and Veronica, James and Darla, Joe and Brenda, six grandchildren; Joshua, Daniel, Meghan, Christina, Cody and Jarryd, and four great grandchildren; Jacob, Tristen, Everleigh and Grace.
Dorothy was a beloved daughter, wonderful sister, loving wife and caring and nurturing mother. All who had the pleasure of knowing Dorothy will miss her and her kind loving heart. Take pleasure in knowing she’s now by her beloved deceased husband’s side for eternity and smiling down on us.
