Dorothy Corey Topolic passed away on April 24, 2018 at 8:30 p.m. at the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness with family be her side. Dorothy was born to Jack and Olga Corey on May 8, 1946 at home in Chickaloon, Alaska. She lived most of her life in Alaska. She is survived by her husband, Raymond “Joe” Windmiller; two sons, Edward J. Smith and Pete Topolic; two brothers, Dan Corey and Frank Corey; two sisters, Edith Baller and Kathy Gertie Anderson; many nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends that are like family. Dorothy attended Palmer High School and graduated from Charter College of Anchorage in clerical work. She worked for BIA during the Land Claims Settlement. She was also a director on the Chickaloon Moose Creek Native Association board. But the job she enjoyed most was waiting tables and serving pizzas. She loved people and she had a big heart. After marrying the love of her life, Raymond “Joe” Windmiller on Nov. 12, 1988, she enjoyed gardening with her soulmate “Joe.” When you stopped by to visit, Dorothy and Joe would make sure you left with fresh vegetables and flowers from their garden. Dorothy had a big heart and we will surely miss her. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Herb Belanger, Jack Corey Elsie Story, and Mae Crossman. Services will be held May 12, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Manna Baptists Church, located at 10151 East Palmer-Wasilla Highway, Palmer. Potluck Reception will follow, bring a dish.
