Anchorage residents can help celebrate the 96th Birthday of Alaska founding father and 2019 Anchorage Press Person of the Year Vic Fischer for one hour today, Tuesday, May 5th from 4:30-5:30pm in the parking lot of Barnes and Noble Bookstore, 200 East Northern Lights.
People are encouraged to bring a sign or decorations in their car as they drive through the parking lot to show Vic some birthday cheer.
In addition, Vic, a lifetime member of Girl Scouts, asks people to give a donation to Alaska Girl Scouts at www.girlscoutsalaska.org in honor of his birthday since cookie sales were thwarted because of the pandemic.
All participants are asked to stay in their cars and wear masks.
