Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Duane A. Braun, 27, passed away at his wife’s home in the Seattle, Wash., area on June 3, 2010.
Duane always considered himself a computer geek and liked to play online games. He loved kids and played with his son and cousins at any chance he got. Duane also had a love of cars. He helped work on his dad’s and family friend’s cars at both the Fur Rondy Grand Prix and Big Lake Ice Races, and hoped at sometime to be able to race at one or both events.
Duane is survived by his parents, Kurt and Jerri Braun; sister, Annita Braun and son Bryce Braun of Soldotna; wife, Melissa Christiansen-Braun of Seattle; grandmother, Ann Brossow; uncles and aunts, Ricky and Marie Brossow, and Robert and Jennifer Brossow; cousins, James Brossow, Ambrosia Keller, Ricky Brossow Jr., Kenneth Ellis, Dawson Ellis, Brayden Brossow, Anastasia Brossow and Layla Keller of Anchorage; in-laws, Nils and Debbie Christiansen, and Phillip, Aaron, Jasmine and Dena Christiansen of Wasilla. He is also survived by many friends.
A memorial will be held June 23 at Wolverine Park. 1006 W. 74th Ave., in Anchorage for family and friends who want to say goodbye. The memorial is from 3 to 7 p.m.
