Dwayne passed away at his home from an apparent heart attack on September 23, 2018.
Dwayne was born December 13, 2961 in Miles City, Montana. He came to Alaska in1975 during the pipeline with his family. When he turned 18 in 1979 he came back to Alaska and never left not even for a vacation, he loved Alaska. Dwayne worked at Pruedoe Bay from 1983 to 1991. He started his own business in 1991 Eagle Eye Excavating. Dwayne was also known to many as Hippie, Slippers or Backhoe Dwayne. His hobbies were snow machining, gold mining, heavy equipment and his family.
Dwayne is survived by his wife of 26 years Teresa McCants; sons Dakota and Jeremiah McCants; grandchildren Ryder, Silas, and Pyper McCants. Also his dog Hank.
Preceded in death by his father Jim McCants; mother Virginia McCants; and brother Daryl McCants.
There will be a memorial service Sunday October 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at his home in Hatchers Pass.
His remains will be scattered on Baldy Mountain his favorite place.
