Dwight House

Former Wasilla resident Dwight Evans House left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 22, 2010, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, Kan. He was 72.

Dwight was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Chicago, the son of Raymond Preston and Mae Florence (Anderson) House. He graduated high school and went on to become a very talented electrician, journeyman and owner of Active Electric, having worked for many years all over Alaska.

Dwight was a resident of Alaska for more than 46 years of his life. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family, but also loved traveling as an electrician. Just prior to his passing, Dwight moved to Hays, Kan., to be with his sister, Rosalie, where he accepted Jesus Christ into his life. He symbolized that by signing a “Ticket to Heaven” card that he carried near to his heart right up until the time he left this world.

Dwight married his first wife, Adele, and they had five children together during their marriage. They later divorced. He then wed his second wife, Carol in 1981. They enjoyed 21 years of marriage up until Carol’s passing in 2002. Dwight will be dearly missed by two sons, Shane of Fairbanks and Wesley of Columbus, Mont.; three daughters, Babete Anderson of Red Lodge, Mont., Dodie Rife of Billings, Mont., and Jessica Guillaume of Billings; four sisters; Constance Pollock of Stanwood, Wash., Rosalie Burk of Hays, Kansas, Rachel Huckfeldt of North Augusta, S.C., and Priscilla Eickstaedt of Yale, Okla.; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his second wife and his parents.

Private family services will be held at a later date. His body was cremated. There will be no visitation.
