Edith Caroline Johnson Lamouria (May 7, 2016 – Nov. 7, 2016) Loving mother, sister, grandmother and aunt has joined her husband and daughter as an angel.

Born to Elmer and Ellen Carlson Johnson of Munising, Michigan in the family home, Edith was the eldest of three children- with Royce and Colin as her younger brothers. She lived and worked in Munising until she joined the Army WAC in 1944 as a medical technician until WWII ended and discharged in 1946, with an honorable discharge. Edith returned to her hometown of Munising where she joined the Fourth of July festivities, met her husband of 60 years, Benjamin Lamouria.

They married on Aug. 16, 1947, and had 3 children Christine, Diane and Michael. They moved to lower Michigan for a few years and spent many years upstate New York. Edith and Benjamin followed their children to Alaska in the 1980’s and made their home in Wasilla.

Edith’s hobbies were crocheting, baking, cooking, camping, reading, and making candy- which she sent to family.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ellen Carlson Johnson; her husband Benjamin Lamouria; and daughter Diane.

Edith is survived by brother Colin Johnson of Michigan; daughter, Christine Lamouria Alcock (Daniel Alcock); son, Michael Lamouria (Karen Walsh); grandchildren, Chantel Heitmann of Clifton Springs, New York; Norman and Pam Mathers Darling of North Pole, Alaska; Michelle Lamouria of Palmyra New York; Heather Lamouria of Shortsville, New York; Michael P. Lamouria of Wasilla, Alaska; Melissa Alcock and Kasey Traub of Waverly, New York; and Christina Alcock and Don McMillian of Penn Yan, New York; Great-Grand Children; many nieces and nephews; and all of Wasilla, Alaska.

The service was held at Fort Richardson National Cemetery, Anchorage, Alaska- where she was laid off to rest with her husband on Nov. 15, 2016.
