Edward Allen Todd

Edward Allen Todd passed away peacefully on March 27, 2021, at his home in Palmer, Alaska.

He was born on September 27, 1953, in Hotchkiss, Colorado. Edward did so much in life it is hard to say in a small paragraph. He loved Alaska, being outdoors, mining, fishing, and collecting rocks, to name just a few. Edward always wanted to ride on his hog and was so excited for spring riding. He also enjoyed clam-digging, dip netting and working on projects.

Edward was an amazing miner and heavy equipment operator. He would rather be underground than above ground, he always said. His rock collection was massive and the beauty of them is indescribable. Through his rock hounding days, he had two children who loved to go exploring and enjoyed the outdoors with him. He taught his daughter to climb trees, fish, ride three-wheelers, snowmachine, and play in the dirt and mud. He was so proud of his son Eric in the Air Force in Washington, and he loved having a grandson. Edward lived a hard life and it was not long enough.

He is survived by his daughter Lysa with longtime boyfriend Kyle, son Eric with wife Ashlee and grandson Lincoln, his father John and wife Nancy, brother Gary with wife Sue, sister Jane, brother Wayne with wife Carrie, many nieces and nephews who loved him, extended family in Colorado, and his rat dog Amber. He was preceded in death by his mother Velma in 2016.

He was cremated and his ashes will be spread throughout Hatcher Pass, given to family and go with his moms’ ashes to Colorado. A celebration of life will be late spring.
