Edward John “E.J.” Fanning, 66, died Aug. 1, 2011, at his home in Wasilla.
A remembrance get-together for E.J. is from noon to 3 p.m., Aug. 20 at Evangelo’s restaurant in Wasilla.
Born Dec. 28, 1944, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Edward John Fanning Sr. and Sarah Gloria Fanning.
E.J. held a master’s degree from Wyoming University and worked for the Department of Environmental Quality in Wyoming. At the time of his death, he was an environmental specialist with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service in Wasilla.
Surviving are two daughters, Mica Devon Fanning of Omaha, Neb. and Jamie Fauver of Jackson Hole, Wyo.; grandchildren; brother, Michael (Kathleen) Fanning of Eagle River, Wis.; longtime friend, Sylvia J. (Fansler) Himmelright of Bunker Hill, W.V.; and the Fansler family of Inwood, W.V.
Graveside services were at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, Md.
