Elmer Howard Prater II, 45, passed away in Palmer Alaska at Mat Su Regional Medical Center on December 24, 2014. Elmer was born in Ashland, Kentucky on June 29, 1969.
Elmer went to Houston High School. He was trained as an electrician, plumber, and water heater inspection treatment worker. He has worked for Settlers Bay Golf Course for 18 years and three more years as a seasonal cart maintenance man. He also worked several services as an exterminator in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Elmer enjoyed playing golf, video games, fixing things and spending time with his family. Elmer attended Sunny Knik Chapel at mile 14 Knik Goose Bay Road.
Elmer is survived by his children, Ethan Anthony Prater and Chloe Ann McGehee; and grandparents Eldon and Rose Gallear. He is also survived by Iieta Prater, Eldon Prater, Ileta Prater-Trescott, Shannon Parker, Michael Prater and Holly Axford.

The Celebration of Life will be held at Legacy Funeral Homes Wasilla Heritage Chapel, 1015 South Checks St. Wasilla AK, 99654 starting at 2 p.m. with a viewing at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29.
