Palmer resident, Emil Alfred Fondahn “Butch” died Dec. 8, 2010, at home in Palmer.
A funeral service is at St Johns Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m., Dec. 16 with Pastor Jonathon Rockey officiating.
He was born Dec. 8, 1944, in Seward. He graduated from Riverside High School in Seattle, Wash. Served in the U.S. Marine Corps from Dec. 14, 1961 to March 24, 1966, and was in the Bay of Pigs Conflict.
Moving back to Palmer, Butch used to run the Palmer Boxing Club, and he was also a boxing referee.
He was involved with the VFW Post 9365 and the American Legion Post 15 in Palmer, where he was also the Post Chaplain.
He is survived by his son Eddie Fondahn; sister, Christine Woods Soulak and family; and sister Mary Nagel and family, all of Palmer.
