Erica Rose Brownrigg-Green, 26, died Aug. 29, 2013, at home in Wasilla.

Erica was born Nov. 15, 1986, in Seattle, Wash., and baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Renton, Wash. Erica moved to Alaska in 2002, residing in Anchorage and graduating from Dimond High School in 2005 before moving out to Wasilla.

She worked for the Wasilla Target in the warehouse loading and unloading. She also worked at the Frontiersman as a route driver for Wasilla, Knik, Point MacKenzie, Big Lake and Houston, as well as Anchorage Daily News.

Erica rescued traumatized pit bull dogs, caring for and re-homing them. She enjoyed snowboarding at Hatcher Pass, hiking and camping in and around Hope.

“Erica remains truly beloved by all who had the good fortune of knowing her. She was a genuinely beautiful, innocent and joyful spirit, and an unending wellspring of strength and light. She will be sorely missed daily,” her family wrote.

Local services were held Wednesday at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel in Wasilla. Additional services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with interment following at Greenwood Memorial Park Sept. 7 in Renton, Wash. Pallbearers are her brothers, Shaun and Scott Green; friends, Noah Horn and Jonathan Wheeler; cousin, Anthony Spring; and great-uncle, Russell Morency.

She is survived by her father and mother, Al Green and Leitha Svor-Green of Wasilla; brothers and sisters-in-law, Shaun Green and Christalin Vyctres of Auburn, Wash., and Scott Green and Aubreonne Bassnet-Green; and sister, Jasmyn Green, all of Wasilla. She’s also survived by her niece, Iris Vyctres of Auburn, Wash.; grandparents, Maynard and Rose Svor, Darlin Colvello of Renton, Wash., and Karolyn Morency of Enumclaw, Wash.; great-grandmother, Betty Meinhardt of Enumclaw, Wash.; aunts and uncles, Diane and Ron Potts of Vaughn, Wash., Katherine Green of Ocean Shores, Wash., Maynard R. Svor of Renton, Wash., Barbara Albert of Enumclaw, Wash., Stuart Green of Anchorage, and Yolanda and Yves Reinert of Hagnau, Switzerland; great-uncle, Russell Morency of Oregon City, Ore.; and great-aunt, Janet Sigmund of Idaho.
