WASILLA — In what some may consider a stunning upset, incumbent Wasilla City Council Seat B representative Mark Ewing was unseated by Kristofer Larson, who garnered 52.4 percent of the vote today. Larson had 487 votes to Ewing’s 435; seven voters opted for a write-in candidate.
The city’s other council race may have be headed for a recount, as Dianne Woodruff earns a bare four-vote victory over Norman Fuller 455 votes to 451, or 49.7 percent of the turnout to 49.2 percent. The close result makes the 10 write-in votes important to both sides.
