PALMER — University of Alaska Cooperative Extension Service is offering a couple of classes on gardening and Dutch oven cooking in July.
First up is the Dutch Oven Cooking Class from 1 to 4 p.m., July 24 in the Blue Room at the UAF Matanuska Experiment Farm, 1509 S Georgeson Dr., Palmer.
Explore food safety, preparation and cooking using Dutch ovens in this hands-on workshop. Cost is $15 for adults and free for youths ages 11 to 13, when accompanied by an adult.
Pre-registration is required and class size is limited to 20. Register online at bit.ly/1cAVsDH, or by sending email to matsu-ces@alaska.edu.
Please bring payment and a completed registration form with you to the class.
Second is a Harvest of Fun Class, which focuses on harvest, use and storage suggestions for garden crops. The class is from 1 to 4 p.m., July 31 in the Blue Room at the UAF Matanuska Experiment Farm. Pre-registration is required and class size is limited to 20. Cost is $15 for adults and free for youths ages 11 to 13, when accompanied by an adult.
