Family Tribal Celebration and Health Fair is June 15

PALMER — The fifth annual Family Tribal Celebration and Health Fair is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 15 at Raven Hall on the Alaska State Fairgrounds. Lunch is served at noon.

The theme for this year’s event is “Gratitude.”

“We are celebrating our gratitude to all the many resource providers working to keep the Mat-Su Borough healthy,” said event organizer Paul Pike of Chickaloon Village Traditional Council.

Pike said this year’s celebration includes new musical groups and activities.

He said he hopes that will mean an even greater turnout for the event than the 600 people who attended last year.

The event is free, including free parking in the Orange Lot.

Sponsors of the annual event are Mat-Su Health Foundation, Southcentral Foundation and the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium.

This gathering is a joint effort with Knik Tribal Council, Native Village of Eklutna and Chickaloon Village Traditional Council.
