Fern Moffett

Fern M. Moffett, 75, died Dec. 22, 2007, of natural causes at Care Incorporated Assisted Living in Wasilla. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.

Moffett was born Sept. 5, 1932, in Livingston, Mont., where she attended Park County High School. She was baptized into the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness in 1957 and came to Alaska in October 1963, residing in Anchorage until 2003.

Moffett was a talented person who loved to knit, had a way with the written word and was an excellent artist with oil paints. She also held a real love for animals, especially dogs.

Moffett is survived by her daughter, Susan (Robert) Murphy of Wasilla; sons, Mike (Lisa) Lamb of Anchorage, Jay Moffett of Cathedral City, Calif., and Jeff Moffett of Grass Valley, Calif.; grandsons, Robert (Kim) Murphy of Anchorage, Joe (Rachael) Murphy of Turlock, Calif., and Derek Moffett of Anchorage; granddaughters, Dana (Brad) Stitzel of Wasilla, Heather (Jason) Schnider of Anchorage and Ginger Moffet of Seldovia; great-grandchildren, Jared and Kasey Murphy of Anchorage, Cole Murphy of California and Brayden and Tyler Stitzel of Wasilla.

She was predeceased by first husband Leroy Moffet, second husband, Robert Lamb, and son Jesse Moffet.

Valley Funeral Homes and Crematory of Wasilla and Palmer assisted the family.
