Frank Leroy McDowell passed away on February 27, 2016, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer. Frank was born in Orville, California, on January 22, 1949, to James and Vivian McDowell. He is preceded in death by parents, James and Vivian; daughter, Janice; brother, Howard; sisters, Sharon and Judy; best friend, Johnie Bob Reed and best friend Ted Buzby. He is survived by companion, Kristi Marcum, of Palmer, Alaska; son, Joseph of Anchorage, Alaska; son, Frank Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska; brother, Brian of California; sister, Twila of Utah; niece, Vivian (Sissy) of California; nephew, James of California; granddaughter, Malissa of Tennessee; granddaughter, Linda Rose of California; best friend, Kathy Cook of Palmer, Alaska; and several nieces and nephews. He loved the American Legion post 15, fishing, hunting and horses. He was a well driller, plumber and jack of all trades. Service to be held at the American Legion post 15 in Palmer on April 3 at 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
