He was born February 26, 1935 in Baraboo, Wisconsin to Emma Stoeckman Zschiegner and Roy Zschiegner. He graduated from Portage High School in 1952. Frank moved to Alaska in 1959 where he met and married Peggy Sundstrom in 1960. The couple resided in Anchorage. The birth of 3 daughters soon followed. In 1972, the family moved to Wasilla where they raised their daughters and then watched their family grow. Frank and Peggy have resided for 48 years in the home they built off Fairview Loop. Frank worked for FAA for 31 years until his retirement in 1997.
Frank will be forever remembered by his wife of 60 years, Peggy, children Cindy (Todd), Kelly, Franci (Bobby), sister Betty Johnson, nephew Jeff, seven grandchildren (and spouses) and 20 great grandchildren. Frank’s legacy will continue forever in the hearts and lives of his family.
A Memorial Service will be held at Wasilla Heritage Chapel at 1015 S Check Street, Wasilla, on June 27, 2020 at 1 pm. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the service at a location to be determined. In his honor, his grandsons are building his casket for his final earthly resting place on Ft. Rich in Anchorage. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Impact Ministries (P.O. Box 2500, Redmond, WA 98073-2500), a ministry outreach dear to Frank’s heart.
