In 1953, Frank and his family homesteaded on the North side of the Little Susitna River, a challenging endeavor, which resulted in much hard work and many adventures. In his later years Frank entered the Anchorage Pioneer Home where he continued to reside until a few days before his death.

Frank loved music, dancing and socializing. In his youth, he was an excellent ball room dancer and enjoyed the many jazz and swing bands that performed at Seattle dance halls in the late ‘30s and early ‘40s. He recalled dancing to the Bennie Goodman, Glenn Miller and Guy Lombardo bands, to name a few.

Frank is survived by his daughter-in-law Trudy Toomey of Wasilla, daughter Melody Jamieson and son-in-law, Sandy Jamieson of Fairbanks, son Craig Toomey of Wasilla, granddaughter Abigail Paul of Fairbanks, granddaughter Melissa Nelson of Anchorage, granddaughter Melissa Toomey of Wasilla, grandson Jerem Toomey of Anchorage, grandson Ben Jamieson of Oregon and great-grandsons, Brandon Toomey, Gus and Carter Paul. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews in the Lower 48.

Frank’s family wishes to thank the Anchorage Pioneer Home, especially the staff of the nursing wings, for the excellent care and support they provided to Frank for many years.
