Frederic Ray Brown, 62, passed away peacefully at his home in Spring, Texas, May 13, 2013. Frederic was born March 8, 1951, to Lynn and Dorothy Brown in Corvallis, Ore.
Surviving are his sisters, Linda Taylor of Spokane, Wash., and Kathy Keutzer of Portland, Ore.; wife, Mary Brown; and stepchildren, Tracy, Leah, Jerame, Jessica, Justin, Theresa, Mandy and Ryan, along with their families.
Frederic had the honor of serving in the armed services for two terms in Vietnam. After working as a police officer in Oregon while attending college earning his teaching degree, he moved to Alaska in the late 1970s. Frederic taught in numerous villages and communities, then settled in Palmer teaching English at Palmer Junior Middle School and the Palmer Youth Facility with troubled youth.
Fredric retired in 2003, moving to Park River, N.D., and Spring, Texas. He continuing working with troubled youth and adults for the Texas Department of Corrections and The Woodlands High School with special needs students. Known for his practical jokes, love of hunting, adventure and good wine, Fred Brown was well known and loved by family and friends. A guestbook for Frederic is online bit.ly/12ZW8yZ.
As per Frederic’s request, no funeral will be held.
