Big Lake resident Fritz Alvin Livesay, 88, died June 25, 2012, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer with his family at his side.

At Fritz’s request, no services will be held. His ashes will be scattered at Lake Ravine in a private family ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Fritz to the charity of your choice.

Fritz was born on May 9, 1924, in Colorado to James and Allie (Ray) Livesay.

While living in Alaska, Fritz worked for FAA, Arrow Lumber and United Lumber prior to retiring in 1989. He loved working with wood, and during his career designed and built several small buildings in Anchorage. Some of his happiest times were spent with family and friends at his cabin on Ravine Lake.

His family wrote: “He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. We were blessed beyond words to have had him with us for as long as we did, and while we will miss him dearly, we take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering.”

Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers, Richard, Lee, Ivan and Homer.

Surviving are his loving wife, Evelyn; son, Chris; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Helen; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Dave; daughter, Karen; daughter, Charlene; sister, Mary Lee; sister, Mildred; brother, Everett; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and too many friends to name.

Arrangements were by Valley Funeral Home and Crematory. Online obituary and guestbook may be visited at alaskanfuneral.com.
