Gary D. Blade, 69, died in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Dec. 15, 2009. There will be a celebration of his life at his family home in Wasilla on his birthday, July 18, starting at 2 p.m.
Born in Michigan, he came to Alaska in 1968 and worked at Alaska Helicopters/Columbia Helicopters for 27 years. He loved to hunt and fish and loved air boating.
Gary leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Ella; daughter, Jeanette Sinner; grandchildren Kathy, Michael and Amanda Skinner; and his brother, Craig James.
