Gary Edward Richardson

Gary Edward Richardson, 65, passed away unexpectedly on July 2, 2016.

Gary touched the lives of many youth, families and friends during his time in Alaska. In1972, Gary eloped with his sweetheart, Carol Haggard at Lake Tahoe. They later were sealed for time and eternity in the LDS temple in Los Angeles. The Richardson family moved to Alaska in 1975 where they enlarged their family by one’s and sometimes two’s as foster parents to many children who found refuge in their home, sometimes for days and for others a lifetime. He worked for the Mat-Su School District working with teens. In 1992, Gary brought his family to Las Vegas to make a new home working in construction and the medical field. The greatest accomplishment of Gary’s life was his children, Stephanie, Monet, James and Mona, Irena, and Vassa; grandchildren, Lacey, Brandon, Haley, Lyndsey, Alexandria, Isabella, Sophie, Tristan, Adam, Andy; and a great -grandchild, Caleb. He is survived by his children; brother, Robert; and sisters, Joni and Patty. Gary was preceded in death by his wife Carol, and his parents. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mat-Su Special Santa Program or a charity of your choice. Cards may be mailed to P.O.
