Gary Greatreaks died Friday, the 22nd of July; he lost the battle with appendicitis. He survived the ‘64 earthquake, several car accidents and a cabin fire but not appendicitis.
He will be greatly missed as he was a big brother, uncle, great uncle, co-worker, game hunter, carpenter and general mechanic; also a friend. His group of friends referred to him as the “Chief” and he liked to party with the best of them, his music of choice was Classic Rock. He had a G.E.D. and worked hard most of his life. He is predeceased by his grandmother, father, mother, foster father and foster mother. He is survived by his close family; (brothers, sister, foster sisters, foster brother, nephews, niece, cousins and great nephews and great nieces). We will all miss his laugh and smile. Friends will be received at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016, at Anchorage Funeral Home & Crematory, 1800 Dare Ave., Anchorage Alaska 99515.
