Gary John Kuehn

Gary John Kuehn, 80 passed away on Dec. 27, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Tucson Arizona. Visitation will be at Carrillo’s Tucson Mortuary Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, 204 S. Stone Ave, Tucson Arizona 85701, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Scripture services, 10:30 a.m. and Internment 12:00 p.m. at Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery. 15095 N. Luckett Road, Marana, Arizona 85653.

Gary was born Sept. 26, 1937. He graduated from Riverside High School in 1956, Milwaukee WI. Upon graduation Gary joined the Air Force, eventually transferring to the Coast Guard. He served his country for 22 years, retiring from the armed forces in 1978. He then enjoyed a career with the United States Forest Service. On Jan. 9th 1960 he married Windell ‘Louise’ Mize. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage until her passing January 2013.Gary interests included traveling, playing cards, hunting and fishing with his sons, reading mysteries and true crime stories. He was very active in the American Legion charity functions.

Gary is survived by his family, eldest son John Mitchell Kuehn, his wife Yvonne and their two children Hayden Mitchell and Madison Aline Kuehn of Palmer Alaska survive Gary. His daughter Casandra Jean Sheyman, her husband Vitaly Sheyman and their son Samuel Douglas Sheyman, of Greensboro, North Carolina and by his youngest son, Brian Douglas Kuehn and wife Karri of Wasilla Alaska. Gary is also survived by his wife Joyce Kuehn, married May 25, 2017-Dec. 27, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marion Kuehn, as well as an infant sister Barbara Kuehn.

Gary was loved as a husband, father, grandfather and friend. His presence in our life will be missed and we take solace only in that we know his suffering and pain are at an end and he has taken his place with his Lord.
