Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Gene Lepinske, 61, died Nov. 11, 2011. He was born April 9, 1950, in Syracuse, N.Y., to Bud and Dorthy Lepinske.
He is survived by his brothers, Jerry, Dave (wife Sue) and Jim Lepinske, all of Clay, N.Y., Fred Lepinske (wife Carma) of Gunnison, Colo., and Jeff Lepinske of New York City; sister, Diane (husband Bob) Stevens of Fayetteville, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Bud and Dorothy Lepinske of Clay, N.Y.; and nephew, David Lepinske of Gunnison, Colo.
Gene had many lifelong friends and loved nature, camping and biking. A gathering of his friends and family is at 10 a.m., Nov. 20 at Settler’s Bay Lodge in Wasilla.
Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory in Wasilla cared for the family.
