Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Talkeetna resident George Leonard Issel, 65, died Sept. 4, 2012, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.
A gathering of friends and celebration of his life is at 5 p.m., Sept. 22 at H&H Lakeview Lounge and Restaurant, Mile 99.5, Parks Highway.
George was born May 25, 1947, in San Bernadino, Calif. He completed two years of college and served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He came to Alaska in the early 1980s and resided in Talkeetna, where he had been employed as a truck driver.
Surviving are his son and daughter, James R. Shade and Samantha Issel, both of McKinleyville, Calif.
Arrangements were by Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Wasilla.
