Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Gerard S. DeMelfi of Bronx, New York, passed away June 5, 2014.
Gerard was a U.S. Air Force veteran, auto mechanic and who worked at the Wasilla Walmart for 11 years. He loved fishing, watching cooking shows and singing.
Gerard is survived by his sisters, Mildred and Marie; brother, Nicholas; sons, George and Michael; daughter, Tina; daughters-in-law, Debra and Rebecca; son-in-law, Kyle; grandchildren, Juliana and Devin; and great grandchildren, Zachary and Bryce.
“He will be dearly missed by all,” his family wrote.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m., June 21 at Glacier View Alliance Church, 7550 E. Palmer-Wasilla Highway, Palmer.
