Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Giles Christopher (Hercules) McDonald, 4 days, died March 16, 2013, in the Providence Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
He was born March 12, 2013, and was surrounded in love by all of his family members and friends who were with him during his fight. His family will forever hold him in their hearts and celebrate him, feeling his presence while hiking the mountains and fields surrounding Palmer, skiing and snowboarding at Arctic Valley, and while fishing the Kenai River.
Surviving are his parents, Norman McDonald and Kelly (Cravens) McDonald of Palmer; sister, Alexa McDonald, 10; grandmother, Rhonda Cravens of Eagle River; grandparents, Giles and Jeannette McDonald of Palmer; uncle and aunt, Christopher and Darcie Cravens of Anchorage; uncle and aunt, Scott McDonald and Ashley Vanhemert of Anchorage and cousin, Cormac; and grandparents, Michael and Linda Cravens of Sikeston, Mo.
His parents would like to thank all of the amazing staff at Providence Hospital NICU for the help and support they provided.
A celebration of life is at 2 p.m., March 30 at Our Lady of the Snows Chapel in Girdwood.
