On Wednesday January 10th 2024 the world lost a beloved mother, wife and friend, Gina Perez, in the loving arms of her husband. Gina was born March 11, 1962 in Anchorage Alaska, daughter to Marvin and Carmen Garner.

After attending East Anchorage High School, she went to Trend Setters School of beauty to start her career in hair, there was nothing Gina loved more than working in the beauty industry, that was until she met the love of her life, Gilbert. Gina and Gilbert were married October 22nd 1981 in Reno, NV and spent the next 42 years raising and enjoying their family in Alaska. Gina devoted her life to her children and ultimately decided to switch careers from hairstylist to housewife in 1990. For her kids, the Perez house was always the hang out with their friends. Gina had a unique gift of making everyone feel comfortable and safe. She was the kind of person you wanted to talk to about anything and everything.

As her children grew into adults, she was soon promoted to Grandma. As much as she loved her kids, you should have seen her as a grandma, we find deep comfort in knowing her spirit will forever live on in all of her grandchildren. To be loved by Gina was to know what it was like to truly have someone in your corner, she put her heart and soul into her family, and she never failed to make sure you felt important.

Gina was a witty woman to the end and if you spent any time with her, you were sure to be laughing. Good food, loud music, getting her nails done and shopping were passions of hers and not often would you catch her without her hair and makeup done. She lived her life with grace, integrity and the ability to love unconditionally, everyone that knew her was blessed.

Through all of Gina's health setbacks she always came out a little stronger, the joke often came up that she had 9 lives and would outlive us all, if only that were true.

Gina is survived and dearly missed by her husband, Engelberto Perez; her children, Carina Perez, Tara Perez, Gilbert Perez and Venny Perez; grandchildren, Aidan Perez, Mia Anderson, Corbin Buehler, Hudson Buehler, Reagan Buehler, Isabella Perez, Amelia Perez and Venny Perez JR; siblings, Larry Garner and Carol Bustamante, as well as countless friends and family members that loved her.

Preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Carmen Garner; daughters, Sophia Buehler and Suzanna Perez.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Thursday, January 25th2024 at 1:00PM at The Sacred Heart Catholic Church - 1201 E Bogard Rd, Wasilla, AK 99654.

In lieu of flowers, we hope that you will do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone in her honor.
