Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Ginger Dianne Lawton, 63, died Dec. 25, 2007 in Wasilla. A celebration of life was held at the Moose Hall on Jan. 5.
Lawton was born Jan. 30, 1944 in Saginaw, Mich., to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lawton. She came to Alaska Dec. 8, 1947. She spent most of her life in Palmer, but she also lived in Anchorage, Hawaii and Guam.
Lawton joined the United Protestant Church in 1957 and was married there on June 2, 1962. She attended school in Palmer from first grade through graduation.
Lawton was preceded in death by her first grandchild, Kurtis Arcala, who died in Iraq Sept. 11, 2005. Also preceding her was her father Lloyd Lawton on Nov. 27, 1991.
Lawton is survived by her mother, Leva Pat Lawton; daughter Angela; granddaughters Aurora and Kaitlin; grandson Jason; son Tony and his wife, Lani, and grandchildren Allison, Jonah, and Sabrina; brothers Joe and Jeff Lawton and their families.
