A visitation for Wasilla resident, Glenna Marie Lamb, 56, will be Thursday at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel, 1015 S. Check Street, in Wasilla from 2 to 4 p.m. A memorial service will follow with a potluck at the VFW Post #9365 on Knik Road at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Gridley, Calif., at a later date.

Glenna died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at her home. She was born on Jan. 4, 1954 in Gridley, Calif., to Ted and Doris (White) Thomas. She graduated from Gridley High School in 1972. She married Len Lamb in Myrtle Beach, S.C., in 1972 and was married for 33 years.

Glenna came to Alaska with her husband in 1985. She was employed at Elmendorf AFB as a civil servant in numerous locations. In 1991 they moved to Wasilla where she was employed at the Wasilla Veterans Center. Glenna was a key factor there in getting programs started. She also volunteered with the Mat-Su EMS.

Glenna loved to knit, sew and make quilts.

Her family recalls the love she had for them and her need to help those in her community. Glenna also stayed in contact with her former classmates attending all class reunions.

Glenna was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and AMVETS Auxiliary.

Glenna is survived by her mother, Doris Lofton of Yuma, Ariz.; daughter and son-in-law Crystal and Lionel Degand and son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Andrea Lamb all of Abilene, Texas and Kansas; loving companion, Ned Coppedge of Wasilla; grandchildren Kalea and Lionel III Degand of Texas; Brice and Alexis Lamb of Kansas; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and ex-husband Len Lamb.

Glenna was preceded in death by her brothers, Steve and Dennis Thomas and her father, Ted Thomas.
