Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Gloria Ruth Gardner, 75, passed away peacefully Nov. 6, 2014.
She was born Oct. 19, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland, and move to Willow in 1970. She is survived by sons James, Phillip and Jeffrey and Edward Jr. and daughter Vera and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gloria was a school bus driver for 20 years. Many people will remember her for the Easter bunny outfit she dressed in every year for the children. She took in many stray and injured animals in her life and had great help from Big Lake-Susitna vets with a special thank you to Doctors Batsle and Hambach.
She was a lifetime member of the NRA and never left home without her trusty .38 Smith and Wesson revolver. She was an avid gardener and especially loved to grow dahlias and peonies. One of her hobbies was putting together large puzzles.
Per her request, there will be no service.
